Mentors' Full Descriptions

To clean up our sites formatting, long descriptions of a select few of our mentors are displayed here instead of the "Meet the Mentors" Page

Steve Dunbar

Steve began mentoring for Alarm Robotics and re-creating the FRC playing field obstacles when his son Brian joined the team as a freshman in 2016 as an 8th grader.  He took on the official 4H Team Co-leader role in 2018 and is continuously busy with annual team member registrations, seeking and following up on corporate sponsorships, and paying the bills (including the rent on our lab, the historic red brick schoolhouse!).  Steve has a BS and MS in Engineering, holds a Professional Engineering License in MA and Project Management Professional Certification.  He is a 30-year employee of the US Army Corps of Engineers and completed 3 years in the private sector managing software development. 4H Alarm Robotics has been a rewarding experience for him and for his son Brian, and Steve enjoys seeing that same experience unfold for new members, returning members, and mentors.

Erica Payne

Erica is a Senior Electrical Engineer at General Dynamics Mission Systems. She has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Erica also runs the Girls Who Code club at the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School.

Gabrielle (Gabi) Salisbury

Gabrielle (Gabi) Salisbury is a Software Architect for the Auto Insurance Plan Service Organization (AIPSO). She holds a BS in Telecommunications and holds certifications as a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer and a CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer. When Gabi is not developing systems at AIPSO, or mentoring the ALARM team, she prefers to be hands-on on her 5th generation farm where she constructed a 36 ft x 24 ft post & beam barn and two 72 ft x 30 ft. greenhouses in the last few off seasons for her spouse who operates the family farm
